Virginia Lee Ellingsworth, enjoyed traveling, working

Virginia Lee “Ginny” Ellingsworth, 80, of Milford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022. She was born July 27, 1942, daughter of the late Ella Mae and Edward Purcell.

Ginny had a love for traveling with her family on vacations, and traveling to car shows with her beloved husband and friends. Along with traveling, she enjoyed shopping and spending time at the casino, and she had a soft spot for puppies and babies. Ginny enjoyed working and was a loyal employee of the companies she worked for. Her first job after high school was at Sussex Co. (IC Isaacs) for 25 years. She then switched occupations and began work with Sam Yoder & Son in Greenwood. It was 25 years later that her retirement began in 2013. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her stepfather, Johnny Drummond; sisters: Margie Outten and Edna Scholz; sister-in-law, Alice Tholstrup; and brothers-in-law: Kenny and Ricky Ellingsworth. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Samuel Ellingsworth; daughters: Sandra Melvin (Robert) and Debra Wilkins; grandchildren: Eugene Wilkins (Kaitlin), Megan Melvin, and Brandon Wilkins (Jessica); great-grandchildren: Liliana Stubbs, Kelynn Wilkins, Grayson Wilkins and Maggie Wilkins; brother-in-law, Harvey Ellingsworth (Janice); several nieces and nephews; and Jenny Sharp, who aided with her care for several weeks before her passing.

Her body has been donated and she will be cremated by Anatomy Gifts.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your local SPCA or the Alzheimer’s Association.
