Everyone is traveling, it seems.

Data shows people are traveling more often and for longer periods of time, with many planning big bucket list-style trips this year.

But this isn’t the reality for all.

Another group of people are quietly emerging from the pandemic with little to no interest in travel anymore.

Where ‘never travelers’ are highest

A survey of 16,000 adults in 15 countries by the global intelligence company Morning Consult found that Asia is home to the highest percentage of people who say they’ll “never travel” again.

Some 15% of South Korean and 14% of Chinese respondents indicated they would never travel again, according to Morning Consult’s “The State of Travel & Hospitality” report published in August.

North America isn’t far behind, with 14% of American and 11% of Mexican respondents indicating the same.

Yet, no country came close to the travel reluctance shown in Japan, where some

A large aquarium in Berlin, housed in the lobby of the city’s Radisson Collection Hotel, has burst, flooding the hotel and nearby streets with millions of litres of water. More than 100 firefighters had been in attendance at the scene of the world’s largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium and it is not yet clear what had caused the break.

The AquaDom, as it is known, was a 25-metre tall cylindrical aquarium and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, drawing in thousands of visitors each year with its unique design and diverse array of aquatic life. Home to over 1,500 fish representing over 50 different species, it was a saltwater tank that features a variety of colourful tropical fish, including angelfish, clownfish, and parrotfish. The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday that the RealID the deadline would be extended for another two years, delaying implementation until May 7, 2025. The law was previously set to come into effect on May 3.

“The extension is necessary, in part, to address the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the ability to obtain a REAL ID driver’s license or identification card. REAL ID progress over the past two years has been significantly hindered by state driver’s licensing agencies having to work through the backlogs created by the pandemic,” a statement from the DHS said. “Many of these agencies took various steps in response to the pandemic including automatically extending the expiration dates of driver’s licenses and identification cards and shifting operations to appointment only.”

The 100ml airport liquid rule, which has been in place for over a decade, is set to end. This rule, which was implemented in response to security concerns following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, has long been a source of frustration for travellers, who have had to carefully measure and limit the amount of liquids, gels, and aerosols they carry in their carry-on bags.

The rule change, which was announced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), will take effect in the coming months and will allow travellers to carry an unlimited amount of liquids, gels, and aerosols in their carry-on bags, as long as they pass security screening. This means that travellers will no longer have to decant their liquids into small bottles, or risk having them confiscated at security checkpoints.

The decision to end the 100ml rule has been met with a mixed response. Some travellers are thrilled at

Dear Annie: I’m at a stage in my life where personal growth has taken hold in the absence of my husband. My husband is still here and alive, but he frequently travels for work, and I am often left to my own devices for days at a time as a stay-at-home mom of two young boys. I’ve taken to calling these days “idle time,” as if the engine of our marriage is sitting and idling while he’s gone.

This idle time has left me with ample time for self-reflection and personal growth, and I have found myself becoming ambivalent about my marriage and my husband. I do love him and miss him when he’s away, but often I find myself annoyed with him when he is home. I sometimes wish he was on the road again as he interrupts our routines and takes back the house.

I fantasize about doing

In the famous 19th century children’s book, when the shipwrecked Swiss Family Robinson have the opportunity to leave their treehouse on their isolated island, many of the family choose to remain. And they didn’t even have the designer luxuries of Dittisham Hideaway’s toe-warming under-floor heating, fresh herbs growing next to the front door, Nespresso coffeemaker and table-football on the balcony.

Four timbered treehouses are part of an idyllic rural Devon escape that make-up the Dittisham Hideaway. In addition, there is an American Dream of a silver-gleaming 1956 Airstream caravan and five larger-than-average, artisan-crafted Shepherds Lodges.

Forget any notions of inelegantly clambering up rope ladders and hanging out in the branches. These four tree houses – Buzzard, Pheasant, Woodpecker and Owl – are not perched in the branches. They are high-end residences curling and curving through the trees. The Pheasant, Owl and Woodpecker tree houses are all dog friendly.
