Episode 76: Augsburg Confession (article 22)

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Well, we set out to talk about article 22, but we got distracted a bit by an early Christmas present that we opened on the air.  When we finally get around to it, Article 22 of the Augsburg Confession is the first of the correct articles dealing with abuses and errors of the medieval Roman church.  The first on the table is communion under one kind (bread only) for the laity.

We’re talking about it in this episode, along with some seasonal stuff, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, and yes, you guessed it – more bacon.  This time it’s dark chocolate and applewood smoked bacon with alderwood smoked salt.  All in good, clean fun.  Well, good fun at least.

Faith in ActionPicWe engage a couple of listener calls and add a little more bacon to the frypan for those who didn’t get enough of it last week.  Then it’s on to faith and good works – in that order.

People worry about the necessity of good works for salvation; God worries about the necessity of salvation for good works.

baconA special “bacon edition” of the God Whisperers.  Everything goes better with bacon, right?  We’re talking the cause of sin and article 19 of the Augsburg Confession along with frying bacon in the nude.  You’ll have to hear it to believe it.  Craig has put to together some amazing bump music to top it all off.  Wow!
